Great job from the Alex gang,

Keep us posted with the latest updates, these can serve as extra guidelines for similar projects with other bodies.

Tuesday

Next session will be held on Tuesday isa, DW will do the Mandrake installation in details + (??) dunno exactly what..

Try to keep it simple ya Sherif ;)

Manal's picture

+ desktop usage?

May be after u finish the installation u can show them that in Linux we have allternative desktop environments: KDE, Gnome, etc.

also the concept of virtual desktops needs to be explained

the mandrake menu has the applications clasified according to their tasks (office apps, internet apps --> web browsers, etc.) not according to vendors as in Window$ ( Adobe, Netscape, etc.)

No users to begin with !!

mina_linux_tux sure you're a member & you're all welcome to join us in all activites, but how come we do a development course, when no one in Alex uses linux at the first place ?!?! I think it's just not reasonable.

Anyway, if you have the audience then why not !

For sure.

We will have courses at el sakia . and it will be announced soon . so try to connect to el sakia and ask about booking.

the GNU/Linux beginners courses is so similar in content . and I think Cairo volunteers have experience to give you proper courses.

If you are interested call el Sakia.

Welcome to free world..

Start this topic on a new forum thread so other members could collaborate with you and share the ideas under the same topic.

It is not hard to start Gnu/linux in port said or else unfortunate cities.

  • I think life makers port said could attend courses at el sakia and then they will be the makers of courses at port said.
  • they could attend courses at near place I think there will be courses at Zagazig soon.
  • at summer may some Cairo volunteers spend some GNU/linux-EGLUG time at port said :).
