That is an option in the computer's bios. Usually under the name of "AC back". Turn it to yes.

i think no

i think no there is no other soultions .. what the other soultion could be ? may be u can buy an electrical generator and a high power UPS to keep ur uptime 99.999% or if ur clever enought u can make ur owns ;-)

H/W

I thought of H/W chip that recognize the power is came back and make the short circuit.....?

Well go ahead then

If you have enough knowledge of electronics then do it.. You will need a circuit that detects when the power is back and gives a signal to the power supply to turn on. Check the ATX pinout for more details. Don't try anything though if you're not SURE of what you're doing. Power supplies can be lethal.

Isn't that exactly what

Isn't that exactly what the bios does ? Why reinvent something that's already there?

Mohammed Ahmed's picture

Its doesnot exist on that Bios

Its old BIOS so that featuers is not there

Broken arrow : thank you much

there is this little trick

there is this little trick i learned once. check out the ATX main power cable, the 20-pin one. you can usually start a power supply unit by shorting the green wire (there is only one) and any black cable.

so you can do this, unplug the PC power cable, plug the ATX cable in the mother board , short the green wire with the black one right next to it from above using a pin or a piece of wire or anything similare.

you can also short the corresponding pins on the back of the MB by soldering, although i dont recommand that.

once you plug the PC power cable back, the machine will self power on, and you cant really shut it down any more unless you un plug it.

i tried this 3 or 4 times and it works flawlessly. but it's dangerous and -as said- power supply is fatal. if you fry something dont blame me for it :-) use the BIOS settings if available.

hope this help,

Kudos!!

You should've been an electrical engineer :P actually, I knew about this trick and I used to do it alot, except that I didn't think of shorting them permanently ya3ny.. My thoughts were in the direction of microcontrollers and stuff... You win man :)

Just make sure you have a

Just make sure you have a good stabilizer to protect against the spikes that happen when the electricity returns. Otherwise you end up with expensive high tech burnt crisps.

Yeh, Tell me about

Yeh, Tell me about it.

My UPS "I know you are talking about a stabilizer" couldn't take it the last time, Now tatooine is alone in the cold.
