Hi.
I do have azureus BT client installed already with my dstro. I think that there's some kind of a BUG with it. When I open it, it always requires a mandatory update forcing me to download two ordinary .torrent files
azudapter/Azureus Update Support ver. 1.6.3 >> 20KB
and
Core Azureus Version 2.3.0.2 >> 5.3 MB
The files are within a pop up annoying window "Azureus Updater"
To avoid that annoyance, I just agree to update.. After downloading both torrent files, I get an error message popping up
" ERROR: Version 1.6.3 of plugin 'azupdater' faled to install - /usr/share/azureus/plugins/azupdater (Permsission denied)
I really appreciate your help with the following :
An explanation for this, azureus package is NOT originally installed, I see it unmarked on Synaptic. How come I see it on my menu??
Also, when I install the synaptic package (which is newer 2.3.4.2), I get a duplicate azureus application entry on my menu, it does not update the original one.
How can I just completely remove the annoying bugged first one and install the newer or may be just repair it ??
Help ??
Thanks a lot
Permissions
Hey man, I'm not sure about the synaptic package being not installed - you know I have the same problem. Regarding the permissions error though, I think running Azureus and updating it as ROOT will solve it. "kdesu /usr/share/java/azureus/azureus". I don't recommend this though.
IMHO, overriding your package manager is just asking for trouble. Just install the apt-get version of Azureus and ONLY update it using apt-get. I think It's kinda stupid/redundant of them to include an update facility for Linux clients.
its permssion
sherbo u are right its permession thing if he rn it as root it wil be ok
and its not dangrous
