Assalam Alikum,
I have a DSL net connection and two boxes, one runs windwosME and they other (which is mine) runs Linux, FC2 and winME (for few days only!!!) When on windows the network between the two boxes is fine, but I can't see the windwos box when I am on linux. What should I do?

Define "see"
Is it network sharing or drive sharing or what ??
If it's drive sharing, then try running smb4k or LinNeighbourhood.
Thanks for the reply! OK,
Thanks for the reply!
OK, here it is! but be sure you are talking to someone who never did this before!!! :) 1- I don't know what to do to share files between the two boxes 2- I don't know what to do to make sure I can know that linux feels about the other computer, that is, how can I look at my network and find other boxes in it (something like my network on windows) 3- Please be patient with me!
Thank you for ur time,
M B
install samba
can you ping its IP address?
ping your network address, All machines on the subnet will reply. but if you mean browsing as in via network neighborhood, you need an smb client for that
btw, did you install samba?
you need to get samba working to share files from Linux, you need samba for windows-to-linux interoperability. you can type:
or use program like linneighbourhood or use nautilus
I used to be indecisive .. but now I'm not so sure
samba
if it is there try smb://ip_addr in nautilus, still can't see any then install linneighbouhood or smb4k
