Assalam Alikum,

I am very happy for this move I had in my life. I use linux now to browse the internet. I am so happy. I am to start to make some configuration about kmail and other things. I am very happy indeed. I also expect few technical problems and I expect more help from you (as usual- you are the best).

My first problem is Konqueror which refuses to be a browser. It opens the first page (your site main page) and refuses to go further!

I am happy and shall have loads of questions! be ready to answer my questions

your move will open infinite possibilities for your knowledge and your career, this feeling is good :).

I think moving to firefox is better and more secure.voices of opensource is talking about the firefox for linux and other o$s.

anyway Konqueror is working fine with me ,at our website.

Mr. Mborn

It amazes me to see that you didn't give up on GNU/Linux despite not having the most important and basic feature, connectivity.

Although, some might think that you are someone who doesn't give up easily. I on the contarary blame you totally for this.

Please understand that this is not a personal attack, which is not welcome in this community. It is more of a criticism.

It is apperant that you didn't attend any of the gatherings nor any of the courses we had in the Sakia. Which would have been of help to you. It also amazes me to know that you tried to fix everything in your Linux installation (despite former criticism on your choice of distro) including trouble in your speakers, without seeking to fix the most important and crucial element.

Please, if anyone else is reading this. GNU/Linux is not hard to install and get working fully, it is only that sometimes users don't know what is the first and most important thing to get working. (If there is anything not working in the first place, which is rare today and true 2 years ago). Internet connectivity will enable you to easily communicate and get more help and documentation to fix any remaining issues if any.

Assalam Alikum, Yeah, may

Assalam Alikum,

Yeah, may be you are right! BUT (there are always buts, you know that!) I have been moving back and forth betn Egypt and USA for some years now. I have had to learn linux for work and for making my calculations easier. if you can believe how much does US depends on windows you may believe me. For instance, Latex is (was) the only way for you to publish, now WORD is accepted as an option! though not yet very much used....but it is there as an option.

I shall flood you (in person ;) ) with a lot of my questions about how to configure it with the net and mulimedia so I can see lectures on line, so be ready!

By the way, I use a linux distro which you never heard about (at least about its name !!! www.scientificlinux.org I think I was not lazy at all

Thank you for ur time,

M B

What an invitation

Assalam Alikum

This is a very nice invitation from you Whirlpool! Me writing a review!! I think it is avery nice idea, but I think for a start one can just go to www.scientificlinux.org and find out about it for the moment. I am now struggling tomake my box show aljazeera.net videos and sound. I am also still doing a hard work to istall MPlayer and the rest of all this...I thnk I will need your help in the thread about it, please give me some tips there!

Thank you for ur time,

M B
