a clear deadline please
I don't like this. Sorry, but we can have much well informed guess on what period is long enough and not very long to make the vote. Using our logs.
one more thing, drupal logs should be made public from the time the vote is open till the results are announced.

this is nomination period not voting period
we're talking about nomination period not voting period, the time frame where senior members can put their names in the list of candidates is one week or 3 days after the last update in the list whichever is longer.
this is just to make sure everyone got a chance to see the announecment and decide wether they want to run or not, seeing as this is exam times and all.
