drupal 4.5 was released a few weeks ago, it has many improvements and new features and IMO we should upgrade EGLUG installation ASAP
tasks required for the upgrade:
- port our custom modules to 4.5
- LinCount (done by MohammedSameer)
- Bidi (done by MohammedSameer)
- port contrib modules we use
- glossary
- wiki
- remindme (never really worked)
- navigation (deprecated???)
- members (done???)
- article (done)
- csvfilter (done)
- event (done)
- flexinode (done)
- htmlcorrector (done)

- notify (done)
- privatemsg (done)
- subscription (done)
- syndication (done)
- taxonomy_image (done)
- reimplement certain website features:
- Left iconbar menu
- port theme
- maybe in the process fix IE support
- maybe implement some of the missing features promissed
- maybe even use a new theme, too many people hate the current one
- setup a test install
- upgrade current installation
- write missing modules
- vote module
- test new modules and deploy ones that fit our website
- update the translation
- merge current with new po files
- finialize the translation
- deploy the translation
- feedback everything to drupal community

1st stage almost done
today I finished porting and refining the theme, this means only glossary module is missing and then we can start the move.
the new theme implementation is much cleaner and we will use a special flexinode type to manage the icon bar.

Here it is!
I gave it a test on my local installation and it was fine. The only thing I found is that it adds a menu item to the admin section, Not sure whether this is the right thing or not.
And there is a part "not important" I wasn't able to port, I added a "FIXME:" string there.
