as out activities are getting higher in eglug, i see that we need to handle mailing list for announcements, this mailing lists should have the ability to subscribe/unsubscribe from web or email.. What do u guys think about that?

I'd say you create a new group (Say announcements) and whoever is interested should add himself to it.

Cool idea. We already have something very close though: subscriptions module. Check it:
(Permission settings where denying access to this page and I just fixed that. Don't know why.)
So if its functionality is Ok in principal, we can tweak it better. We create an "Announcements" taxonomy term (or forum), and create a simple subscribe/unsubscribe block in the front page to toggle on/off the subscription for this taxonomy term.
