so how to restore my old systems???
thanks
I think it's only a
I think it's only a bootloader issue, you need to add those OSs entries to the /boot/grub/menu.lst If you were using GRUB already for Solaris/Windows dual-boot, then startup ubuntu and identify the boot/grub/menu.lst file on the solaris partition (NOT the Ubuntu's root) take Solaris and Windows entries from the menu.lst on Solaris partition and copy them to the end of /boot/grub/menu.lst in ubuntu, or just copy/paste those two files here if you're familiar with menu.lst.
thanks for ur reply & iam
thanks for ur reply & iam sorry for being late to answer I tried what u advice me & that's the result
since i don't remember on each partion I put solaris & windows so i tried all of them I only know that ubuntu on sda5 any way for hd0,0 ---> nothing happened when I pressed enter on it for hd0,1 ---> that's what the pc said "invalid device requested press any key to continue" & for other partitions " this partition isn't exist press any key to continue"
what is that mean? did i erased my systems?
thanks again
in ubuntu execute this
sudo fdisk -l and copy/paste what you got. If you've not manually partitioned your disk in Ubuntu installation, then it probably used Guided mode which formats the whole disk, I hope this is not the case :S .
no I used manual choice
no I used manual choice during the installation & I choose the partition I had deleted it before
that's the result of fdisk command Disk /dev/sda: 100.0 GB, 100030242816 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 12161 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0x94e494e4
