Ubunto 6.2 problem

I have several problems here:

1. My machine is a DuoCentrino hp 2. I have a 100 gega hard disk

The problem is: 1. When I used partition magic to make linux ext3 partition it didn't recognize it, the partition magic said that the partition exceeded thr 1024 cylinder, and so I made the /boot option to the partition and sill no use

2. When I made the partition unallocated space: it said that there is a bug: Soft lockup at CPU#0

Is there a solution?

well

All what I can recommend is to use the partitioning tool that comes with the installer to customize the partitions to your needs ... Remember to defragement and backup any fat/ntfs partition before resizing it.
