We will be meeting at noon at El Sawy Cultural Center (El Sakia) on Saturday the 3rd of July. The proposed agenda is as follows:
- Working out the details of EGLUG courses at El Sakia: who teaches what when and to whom
- Deciding on the Alexandria InstallFest; where and when?
- Improving cooperation with Linux-Egypt: how and why?
- Marketing EGLUG: how?
- Improving access to Linux distros and linux books and other things.
- The eglug.org website; challenges facing us, improvements needed, suggestions (and praise for Alaa, Manal, whirlpool, and ramez for their great work!)
- Discussing and ratifying the EGLUG charter
- Discussing ideas for group work such as writing a book, translating tldp.org articles, etc. (brainstorming)
This is just a list of the things I could think of quickly. Please add your suggestions in the comments and I'll add them here. On Thursday I will take these suggestions and make a formal agenda so we know what we'll be talking about on Satuday.

about making a linux book ..
i think we have the ability to write our own book , we have alot of people who can write so what i think we really should do , is making topics and decide who to write about what topic .. and in the end we can just merge the topics togther and have the first EGLUG Book , it needs some hard work .. but we still can do it folks

Things worth writing (or things worth reading) nowadays are original articles discussing original topics, or adding twists to old ones.
You can find some of these in semi-article format in forums
So if you have anything you want to say, please make a new thread, I would gladly read it. And if you are good, I will proly memorize ur nickname and search for ur posts.
So no, I don't recommend wasting time on writing books. (and for the guys who tought its a good (great) idea, like please tell me why?, a wiki book, did that ever work?)
I think, or, what I want from this site to be a friendly neighborhood, where I can hang out, and speak my mind and state my opinions (mostly about software)
I think we need to decide, if this will be a development effort site/community. (like arabeyes)
Or a friendly place, to hang out, check the news, get quicky quikcy help, ask silly questions.
If you try to make it both, it will be a lot less friendly and not very developmentish, fa we loose any edge.
So if you insist on writing a book, please take you effort elsewhere!

I believe all of you knows about CDL (Computer Driving License), It is an international certificate, which means that some1 can work with computer in general
Why do not we do an LDL (Linux Driving License), And ask for international support to do curriculum, and so on And it will be very nice if we start it here from Egypt where Penguins started to eat TA3MAIA ( i like this word very much)
