adel
welcome ya adel.
please try to choose descriptive titles for your posts, we are interested in keeping the content of the forum very organized and of a high quality and usefulness to everyone (specialy new members), so take care of such details in the future.
as you may have noticed the website is still underconstruction and we need all the help we can get in making it useable to all, so can you please elaborate.
you say the homepage is too long, why is this a problem?
because it takes too long to load on your browser?
or is it because it is confusing or boring when its too long?
the homepage will typicaly have the latest eglug news and the latest aticles released + one or two block of static information about eglug.org.
how many news items do you think we should have on the homepage?
note that non frequent users would typicaly only see the news items on the homepage and miss the rest.
cheers, Alaa

can we make an intro. page ??
i think u r right ALAA the homepage is just good as it's , but can't we put an Intro. page which loads fast and it may contain only the logo and enter button as some sites do
THERE'S A FISHING , SO GO FISHING !!!!!
NOOOOO
the homepgae is quite big, and the side bar is way too big.
we will want to decide which sidebar blocks to activate, and also decide how many news stories to allow on the homepage.
IMO Intro pages are among the most annoying things you can do in website, and its a total waste of time to load a page with no use at all except displaying the logo.
cheers,
Alaa

I think he means ...
first I would like to congratulate you guys on the great work, I wish I could help but I'm up to my ears these days in some silly stuf at the office, I'll try to finish asap to work with you guys on this site.
now as for the matter at hand, I think what Mr. adel means is this: there is a blank space between one of the side items heding and its content, this varys acording to different monitor settings, the blank starts beside the "An Attempt at writing a simpler charter" article. I don't know if Mr. adel is using IE6 but I do (I'm at the office) so I get this thing, and I think thats what makes him see the index page "too long" as in length. this does not occur in any other pages on the site.
hope this helped a bit. thank you

gah IE
I've been havig a horrible time trying to get the site to work fine on all browsers.
can you please hit reload on the homepage (to make sure your browser isn't caching anything) then send me a screenshot of the problem you describe?
cheers, Alaa

ok ,ALAA , we all know that u r working hard
THERE'S A FISHING , SO GO FISHING !!!!!
that is what i ment .....
for the website it dosnt take time to load it loads well and yes alaai am with u no to put intro page into page is annoying i never like it and it will also after all lead to the same page the problem that i couldnt discribe before well is that there is a blanc area (too long one ) beside the side bar i am not using my computer these days so i have to use windows with IE 5.5 and as MR.neno007 said the side bar is too long with an empty space beside it thought u will be interested in this comment so that the site looks better U r working hard alaa and we all know from the previous forum that u r the man for hard tasks so please keep the good work and thank u for this
another comment is that some of the links on the side bar the ones with the small fonts appear foggy also in IE5.5 i know most of the other users may not notice that as they r running other browsers than the microsoft one
screenshots please
ah I see, thank you for bringing it up then.
this is exactly why we're developing the theme on the live website so everyone can test it until it works fine on all browsers.
if you know html and CSS you can help in debugging these things and propose changes to fix them.
and please remember to always hit reload before you send a screenshot, sometimes things would have changed but your browser may be caching the css stylesheet.
cheers,
Alaa
