WSIS Discussion

Dear All , I am yaqeen mohamed ,the product manager of gawab and the director of the ROSIE (Research OF Social Informatics In Egypt ) group.

Actually I am going to the WSIS (World Summit for the Information Society ) in Tunisia next month. We are preparing a small salon tomorrow (Wednesday 26 OCt 2005 at 9: 00 pm at the saqya ) for the people who are going to attend the summit and people interested. I think it will be very healthy for us to sit down and discuss our point of views and our agendas.

Beside the web salon event , it will be very important for me to sit with Eglug members, actually to understand ur points of view and ur agenda, and to discuss how can i help u there in the Tunisia , and finally i may need flayers and t-shirts to market and publish eglug ideas there and may be represent EGLUG in Tunisia if u want.

There is some important topics like , converting gawab to an open solution ( one way or another, we need to know how we all can gain from it and how can we enhacne social development by opening the solution ! ) , Also we met Nicholas Negroponte in the previous ICT conference related to the world economic forum in cairo two months ago, he asked for help , and i am going to meet him again in tunisia.

Any how , let me know if i can see you , and how can we cooperate.

Thanx

Social Informatics

Some day we (me and my team) made a research point with North Dakota University in US in this Point "Social Informatics" as a part of the graduation project.

I wonder, What are you doing in this?

sorry for comment about another point rather than WSIS.

Report Back

Yaqeen;

I am sorry that I've missed out on your Sawy meeting, would have liked to share ideas with all attendees. Anyway, it would be great if we can all meet again (in Sawy or elsewhere) to recap your WSIS experience. Thanks and good luck!

Ditto

I wasn't able to make it either; my absence does not signal disinterest though, but rather a busy schedule.
