i want to upgrade to mandriva

guys i have mandrake 10.0 installed on my pc..i want to install mandriva.. i have compiled alot of programs..one of them took about 9 hour on my pc..i have the folder of the package compiled.. teh question is if i have installed the mandriva , can i use that compiled folder just to make "make install" and everything is fine? or i have to recomiple to fit with the new version of system i will have?

or maybe i can just make upgrade and do nothing else?

probably available as packages

probably most of the stuff you compiled is available as mandrake packages anyway and so you wouldn't need to worry about your compiled version working.

post a list of the stuff you compiled and I'll tell you if any of it will be needed after upgrade.

the list

unforantly teh package comes compiled with option i don't like , so i have to recompile teh source .. 1-qt 4.0.1(took about 9 houres) 2-mplayer

yeah qt is a beast

yeah qt is a beast, you will probably need to recompile it since C++ abi changed in mandrake 10.1, not sure about mplayer (btw are you sure PLF's mplayer isn't good enough for you).

I guess 3gp files "crappy vid

I guess 3gp files "crappy video files produced by Nokia phones - No offense, I have one ;-)-" aren't supported by PLF mplayer, Not sure.

I guess you didn't include it as well as amr support when you compiled mplayer too ;-)

3GP/amr support was introduce

3GP/amr support was introduced in cvs and will be released when pre8 is released. Either compile from cvs ( I did and it works well , except the gtk interface is b0rked ) or wait for the release.
