Need Help with Linux Mandrake

Salamo 3alikom,

I am new user of linux in general, i installed linux mandrake 10.0 on my laptop and i don't know how to access the internet through my dial up modem... so please can anybody help????

what kind of modem is it

is it internal or external?

what is the model? if it is internal you can check the model from the mandrake control center system->configure->configure your computer under hardware->hardware

or from the command line run the command lspcidrake

btw latest stable release of mandrake is 10.1

open a terminal and run the command lspcidrake

if u don't know which one and sure u have modem :) paste all here

Cant find modem

Linux doesnt like winmodems. There are patches available ? Linmodems ?? Other than that hook up an external modem
