- on windows it took around 5 mins to load the wav file
- on linux it took around 2 mins to load the file
- on windows any oeration on the track like zooming or selecting killed the machine and took long time
- on linux there was no overhead at all i had almost real time action (as opposed to on windows i had delays between mouse actions and the actual action)
- on windows to encode an mp3 it took around 20secs per minute of songs
- on linux it took around 5 secs per minute of songs
i guess that says something about windows performance as opposed to linux when it comes to multimedia editing
