translation & arabtex question

Hello all!

Since quite a while now I'm interested in Arabic culture and language. I'm currently writing the acknowledgments in my PhD thesis and want to thank one of my colleagues in Arabic (she's from Iran). I never had a formal education in Arabic and therefore my knowledge of the language is rudimentary, but writing is much much worse. What I want to write is a proverb that goes like this: اشتدي يا أزمة تنفرجي

I *think* this would be appropriate for her as she thought she had solved her research question but suddenly some very though problems showed up (if I didn't correctly interpret the meaning of the proverb please correct me, i think it means something like: when you have difficulties your problem is nearly solved).

Now, I try to write the above in latex using arabtex. I wrote: \RL{A^stdI IA 'azmT tnfr^gI}

However, this does not look completely correct to me (especially IA, which results in something more like ايا instead of يا).

I hope somebody here can tell me the proper way of writing this down elegantly with arabtex?

why not utf-8

I think arabtex now supports arabic text entry in UTF-8 why not try that instead of transliteration?
