where do you edit this line?

where do you edit this line? you should be editing the grub.conf file probably the grub.conf has wrong values for the winXP boot line so i think you can add these values to it or login with linux and go to /boot/grub and do a grub-install it will reinstall grub and will fix this

Reinstall Grub to MBR:

You have to reinstall the grub bootloader to the MBR. This will install Grub into the MBR of the first IDE disk under Linux:

type : grub-install /dev/hda
