Report on the training in Menya 4,5 march 2005

1st day

we took the 7:15 train from Cairo and arrived in el Menya @ 10:20. we were staying at The Gam3eyet El Sa3eed hotel in Abu Qurqas, so we decided to have breakfast first in Menya then head to Abu Qurqas.

We met a fellow Linux user from Menya (Dr. Ahmed), who knew us from the photos, he invited us to breakfast and we had a small talk on how EGLUG can help in doing a seminar about FOSS in the Menya university, which Dr. Ahmed and his collegues will try to organize.

we took the 7:15 train from Cairo and arrived in el Menya @ 10:20. we were staying at a 3awama called Dahabeya, we went directly to it and had a lovely breakfast on the Nile.

1st day:

we took the 7:15 train from Cairo and arrived in el Menya @ 10:30 and went directly to Gam3eyet el Sa3eed hotel in Abu Qorqas.

arrived @ Salah el Din school (for boys) in Abu Qorqas @ 13:00, we then started the installation of MandrakeLinux 10.1 Eglug edition in their computer lab. the teachers started to arrive while we were installing and we decided to explain the installation process to them all.

Report On EGLUG`s Alex Members First Meeting

ok guys at last we had our 1st meeting after more than month of talking about it and only 3 members come to meeting.it`s was in El-Salam fun center in SidiGaber near the sea.

Who attended the meeting:

Almost we was there before 8:05 PM ( Linuxawy and me ) ShErbO was already there before 8:00 PM we waited a Little time before we start talking , and we almost started at 8:30 PM when no body ales come, and we started talking about some topics:-

Minutes of the First Meeting

This is the raw minutes I took of our first EGLUG meeting, it needs to be summerized in a proper report. From the agenda:

1.Working out the details of EGLUG courses at El Sakia: who teaches what when and to whom

  • Sakia Membership (for who'll attend activities held there)
  • Courses:
    • arius32 will start graphics courses in August
    • Try the courses on ourselves and friends in July, and do it on public in August
    • Sameh from CuLUG will organize a course with Khaled (instructors, times)
    • Khaled will advertize the courses on Sakia's mailing list (8000 members)
    • Participants in courses should pay Sakia's membership
