Hi all,
1. According to Update 2, The course will start at Thursday 15/7 not Friday 16/7?
2. Could anybody please provide us with the Center address or google maps location?
3. Is there any list of the accepted guys or just we should go to center at that time without any confirmation?

1. That's just a slight miss
1. That's just a slight miss calculation, the course will start at 15/7, which is Thursday.
2. We are not yet settled on the course place. The place advertised above is the plan B place, we are still researching other better alternatives. Once we arrive to a final decision, we will announce it on this thread with the relative information, so keep visiting this thread for updates, or keep an eye for emails that comes from "EGLUG".
3. It is not a selective course, we don't filter students, there are of course prerequisites that each attendee must meet (Please look for the prerequisites section on the course outline) or otherwise he/she will have a very hard time keeping up with assignments and his/her peers. There is of course rule exceptions, like people that do not have certain required skills, but do have patience and dedication to learn and know how to learn. So bluntly its not like "if you don't know something you cannot come", its rather, "if you are willing to learn, please come".

SA, I would like to attend the sessions isA. However, Thursday 18:00 to 19:00, I am not free, so could you please postpone it one hour only and make it from 19:00 to 20:00 (if it won't cause any problem ).

I do not see any problems (at least from my side of things), however I think course organizers/lecturers discourage fitting course parameters based upon attendee mere schedule, so it doesn't become an uncontrollable phenomena, which stresses organizers/lecturers greatly.
However, personally, I do prefer being communicative and understanding, which results in accepting your proposal for postponing Thursday session to 1900-2000 unless otherwise refused by the organizer (Bahaa) due to some other restrictions.
Bluntly, it means yes!

Thursdays problem
Hi organizers/lecturers,
I'd like to attend this sessions very much, but I've problem with Thursdays, like many other people here I guess, I'm working in Cairo from Sunday to Thursday and I tried to change my work schedule to be free in Thursdays but I failed so please could u change it to Fridays instead. I know that it may bother organizers/lecturers but I think Thursdays is difficult for me and others and Fridays will be more suitable for many of us.

I feel that I must make it
I feel that I must make it clear enough for everyone here ... This course has a periodic span of two days per week, which are Thursday and Saturday, a day between which is Friday is intentionally jumped so that to give attendees a chance to understand and go over the material before Saturday.
This is an advanced course, its contents are not easy to consume for newbies, which requires careful planning of the course itself in terms of timing issues and course load. Giving two sessions consequentially without a chance for you and the others to understand and maybe study a bit, would result in you/others being unable to keep up.
NOTE ========= A decision has been made ... Its going to be every Saturday from 1700 to 1900 + 10 minutes break.

I was just coming to comment about the Thursday and Saturday timing too as I work in Cairo and I wouldn't have enough time to arrive to Cairo, but looks like you did the better choice by making it 2 hours on Saturdays.
kudos to the organizers and I think this will make the first session on 17-Jul-2010, right?

I'm sorry to announce that this course is canceled due to me being unable to find the time for it in my rather hectic schedule.
The travel to the course place and back home plus giving the session takes around 7-8 hours, I asked Bahaa (Organizer) to find another place that is a little bit closer, but sadly he was unable to find a suitable one.
However there is another solution, we can utilize something like "Yuuguu", "Skype", and "IRC" to give the same course from the comfort of everybody's home. Which will also help with schedules for everybody.
